ROSA SÁNCHEZ BRAVO

Rosa is a founding partner of Red del Vino (6th Region) and the only female partner in the organization. She also holds the position of Secretary. Rosa grew up with her 4 siblings in Santiago. Her mother was a merchant and father a mechanic. From young she loved nature and the outdoors. Rosa eventually moved away from Santiago to El Huape where she married her husband Don Hugo.

With the Agrarian Land Reform, the farm was organized as a community and her husband was elected president of the organization. After being awarded plots of land, they began to work with a diversity of crops, mainly vegetables. At the time of her husband’s death, they also had a tobacco plantation, which was not a successful business.

Despite the pressure Rosa received to sell her lands, she took charge and persevered to maintain her property. She personally planted part of the vineyards that today make up her heritage producing Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere grapes.
