Abelardo Becerra Meneses

José Abelardo is a founding partner and Treasurer of the Red del Vino (6th region) and has been an active member from the beginning of the organization.

Jose and his wife, Gloria have 4 children, two of which work with him on the farm. His childhood was difficult as his parents worked from dawn to dusk. Lack of resources made a formal education difficult for Jose who wanted a degree in Agriculture.

Eventually, Jose was able to acquire land through the Agrarian Land Reform process. He currently operates 9 hectares of vineyards, 6 of which are Cabernet grapes and three Semillón grapes.
